The CCU Mayday BBQ went off without a hitch last Friday. The weather finally broke at the end of the day, and the sun even came out for a little bit. We parked a trailer in Union Park with a full-sized grill, 20 burgers, 32 hot dogs, 28 veggie burgers, chips, buns, charcoal, and condiments. I pulled the trailer down no problem, despite the same truck running into the bike trailer twice on the way down. Why can't people just pay attention when they drive? But the CCU would not be denied, and the grill was set up and lit, burgers and dogs were eaten, and even a little beer was drunk. A good time was had by all, and we even managed to sign up a new member at the park.
One last thing, a chain lock was left at the park. If it is yours, email chicagocouriersunion@gmail.com and we will make sure you get it back.
